Pool Equipment Pad Leak — Pump Filter & Heater Detection
Leaks at pool equipment are common and often undetected because the equipment pad is outdoors or in a mechanical room. BC pool owners should inspect equipment regularly.
Possible Causes

- •Leaking filter O-ring or pressure gauge connection
- •Heater heat exchanger leak from corrosion or freeze damage
- •Loose or damaged PVC fitting at equipment connections
- •Failed automatic chlorinator or chemical feeder connection
Recommended Steps
- 1Run pool system and inspect all equipment connections while operating
- 2Look for water pooling around pump, filter, heater, and chemical feeders
- 3Check pump strainer lid O-ring for damage and proper seal
- 4Monitor pressure gauge for fluctuations indicating filter or plumbing issues
- 5If equipment is dry but pool is losing water, call for buried plumbing detection
