Before any excavation, core drilling, or ground disturbance on a BC property, knowing the location of buried utilities is essential for safety and regulatory compliance. Private utility locating covers the buried pipes and cables on the customer's side of the utility meter — the section of infrastructure that is owned and maintained by the property owner rather than the utility company. Unlike BC One Call locates (which only cover utility-owned infrastructure up to the meter), private utility locating covers everything from the meter to the building and throughout the property. Our technicians use electromagnetic (EM) line locating and ground-penetrating radar to trace and mark the position and depth of buried water lines, gas lines, electrical conduits, telecom cables, sewer lines, and specialty piping.
