Recommended Steps
- 1Check if discolouration is from hot water only (heater issue) or all taps (pipe issue)
- 2If hot only, check water heater anode rod — replace if depleted
- 3If all taps, corrosion is in the building piping — call plumber
- 4Flush water heater annually to remove sediment
- 5If water is brown or has metallic taste, call for pipe assessment
