Irrigation Underground Leak Detection in British Columbia

Buried irrigation systems are among the most common sources of undetected underground water loss on BC properties. The seasonal nature of irrigation — active in summer, dormant in winter — means leaks often go unnoticed for months or years. A single irrigation main line leak can waste hundreds of litres per hour, inflating water bills and creating soggy areas that damage landscaping and foundations. Irrigation system leaks are particularly challenging because the pipes are often shallow-buried, made of plastic (which dampens acoustic signals), and the system operates at relatively low pressure. We combine acoustic listening, tracer gas testing, and pressure decay analysis to locate irrigation leaks without disrupting the entire system.
