GPR Scanning & Ground Penetrating Radar Across British Columbia
Non-destructive concrete scanning, utility locating, void detection and rebar mapping using GPR technology — the essential step before any core drill, sawcut or excavation.
GPR Applications
From pre-construction concrete surveys to post-pour void mapping — GPR adapts to every stage of your project.
Why GPR Before You Cut or Dig?
GPR + EM Locating — Complete Subsurface Coverage
GPR images non-metallic pipe, concrete reinforcement and voids. Electromagnetic (EM) locating traces conductive lines — metallic pipe, live power and telecom — to exact route and depth. We pair both on every survey so nothing beneath your project is missed. Explore EM Scan & Line Locating → or see the combined Locating & Scanning hub →
GPR for Every Property Type
From single-family homes to hospitals, high-rises and municipal infrastructure — concrete scanning and locating protect every property in BC.
Single-Family Homes
Locate buried water, gas and electrical services and scan slabs before a renovation, addition, pool or in-floor heating install.
Condos & Apartments
Scan suite slabs and walls for post-tension cables, rebar and conduit before any core or anchor drilling.
Strata Properties
Locate buried site services and scan parkade slabs for voids and embedded hazards as part of depreciation and capital planning.
High-Rise Buildings
Post-tension and rebar scanning floor-by-floor before coring for new mechanical, electrical or plumbing penetrations.
Office Buildings
Concrete scanning before tenant-improvement coring and EM locating of in-slab power and data before any cut.
Retail & Shopping Centres
Locate buried site utilities and scan slabs before signage footings, refrigeration lines and fit-out penetrations.
Warehouses & Industrial
Scan thick industrial floors for rebar, conduit and voids and locate buried process and service lines before machine-base or rack-anchor drilling.
Healthcare Facilities
Non-ionising concrete scanning (no radiation exclusion zone) before coring in occupied clinical areas, plus medical-gas and conduit locating.
Schools & Education
Locate buried site services and scan slabs before playground, portable and renovation works — scheduled around school calendars.
Government & Municipal
Documented, auditable EM + GPR locates for civic sites, plus water-main and duct-bank mapping for municipal infrastructure.
Hotels & Hospitality
Concrete scanning before pool, spa and renovation coring and EM locating of buried site services around occupied properties.
Heritage & Historic Buildings
Non-destructive scanning and locating that protects irreplaceable structures — map reinforcement and services before any intervention.
GPR Scanning for Pros & Trades
We subcontract concrete scanning and utility locating to BC's trades — so your crew cuts, cores and digs safely and on schedule.

Frequently asked questions
What is GPR and how does it work?
Ground Penetrating Radar emits radar pulses into a material and records the return signals from interfaces between materials of different density. The result is a real-time cross-section showing embedded objects, voids and layer boundaries — all non-destructively.
Can GPR find live electrical conduit inside concrete?
Yes. GPR detects metallic and non-metallic objects in concrete — including PVC conduit, copper pipes, rebar and post-tension cables. It does not identify what is inside the conduit, but reliably shows its position and depth.
How accurate is GPR for depth readings?
Depth accuracy depends on material and calibration. In standard concrete slabs we typically achieve ±5–10% depth accuracy. We report a depth range rather than a single number to reflect this uncertainty.
Is LeakInspections.ca a division of Anyleak.ca?
Yes. LeakInspections.ca is a division of Anyleak.ca and part of the Leak.ca family — serving BC since 1999.
