Frequently asked questions
What can a drone leak inspection detect?
A drone-mounted thermal camera detects heat anomalies caused by moisture-saturated insulation or membrane, wet substrate under roofing, and water pooling under torch-on or TPO membranes — often invisible from the ground or a manual walk.
Do you need permission to fly a drone over a building?
Yes. We operate under Transport Canada RPAS certification. For urban sites we file all required notices. Most standard commercial and strata inspections are straightforward to approve under TC rules.
Is drone inspection better than a manual roof walk?
For large flat roofs, drone thermal inspection covers more area faster and shows the extent of wet insulation without the inspector stepping on and potentially damaging the membrane. Manual walk is still used for follow-up access marking. The methods are complementary.
