What is electronic (low-voltage) leak detection?
Electronic leak detection finds breaches in waterproofing membranes — on decks, plaza slabs, green roofs and below-grade walls — by applying a low voltage across the membrane and detecting where current flows through a breach to ground. It pinpoints membrane failures to the exact hole, even under overburden.
How it works
- 1A conductive medium (water or a wand) energises the membrane surface.
- 2Current seeks a path to ground only through a breach.
- 3The detector localises that current flow.
- 4We mark the exact membrane failure point.
Advantages
Pinpoints membrane breaches exactly
Works under overburden and green roofs
Avoids removing the assembly
Ideal for decks and plaza slabs

Electronic Detection — FAQs
What is electronic leak detection used for?
Finding the exact breach in a waterproof membrane on decks, roofs and plaza slabs — including under landscaping or pavers.
Can it find a leak under a green roof?
Yes — low-voltage methods locate membrane breaches even beneath overburden, soil and pavers.
