What is gas sniffer probes?
A gas sniffer is the sensitive sensor that completes tracer-gas detection — a hand-held probe that detects minute concentrations of hydrogen as it emerges from the ground or a surface above a leak. Sweeping the probe over the area localises the exact emergence point.
How it works
- 1After tracer gas is introduced, the probe sweeps the surface.
- 2The sensor responds to rising hydrogen.
- 3Readings peak directly over the leak.
- 4We mark the emergence point for repair.
Advantages
Detects minute gas concentrations
Pinpoints the surface emergence point
Works on soil, pavement and finishes
Completes the tracer-gas method

Gas Sniffer — FAQs
How sensitive is the sniffer?
It detects very low concentrations of the tracer gas, allowing precise localisation even when only a little gas surfaces.
Does it work indoors?
Yes — it locates tracer gas surfacing through floors and finishes indoors as well as outside.
